2023: Reflections On Our Year

December is a time for festivities and reflecting on the year that’s passed. Looking back over 2023, it’s been another amazing year at Hand on Heart, with so much to celebrate and plenty to look forward to in 2024.

Although it may seem sombre from the outside, as our job specialises in memorial jewellery to honour and remember those who have passed, we promise our day-to-day work is anything but. In fact, our job is a constant and beautiful reminder of how precious life is. And one thing’s for sure – life is far too short to be working in a boring job!

Our entire ethos at Hand on Heart – through every staff member and every customer – is celebrating life and the people in it. It’s a philosophy we live by and something we’ll take forward into the New Year too. We’ve got so many big things happening at the moment, and we’re excited for the ride.

But before we look forward to the future, we’re taking a moment to reflect on what’s been another incredible year, celebrating everything from new products to Hand on Heart babies and even getting the keys to our brand-new studio.

Something absolutely true at Hand on Heart is that we don’t rest on our laurels. We always look for ways to improve and satisfy our customers’ wants. This is why we’re always excited to launch new jewellery designs, and we’ve introduced some fabulous new products this year, including the extremely popular Silver Hair Locket Necklace, Memorial Fingerprint Bead Bracelet and our Horse Hair Jewellery collection, to name just a few.

We’re so proud of how popular our Cremation Ashes Jewellery collection is, as we know how much peace and comfort these pieces bring to grieving loved ones. Our new Cremation Ashes Adjustable Feather Ring has been incredibly popular this year. We’ve also introduced lots of new Self-Fill Ashes Jewellery designs – there are almost too many to mention, however, some beautiful designs include the Ashes Urn Circle Necklace, Egg Timer Hourglass Ashes Necklace, Teardrop Cremation Urn Necklace, and Cremation Ashes Bar Necklace, among many others.

It was a wonderfully momentous occasion to celebrate our 14^th birthday in August. Hand on Heart has come a long way in fourteen years, from a homemade lab on the kitchen table to an 11-strong workforce in a beautiful studio. We’re so grateful to our customers for the support and can’t wait to see what the next fourteen years bring.

Welcoming Hand on Heart babies is always so heartwarming. Jade had baby Albie in April, while Lucy and Lauran returned from their respective maternity leaves after Lucy welcomed Reggie, and Lauran had baby Rory last year. 

Although we never imagined the day would come when we’d be ready to leave our beautiful countryside studio, we decided to move to our brand-new studio, marking the beginning of a fond farewell to our beloved home of the last eight years.

Managing Director, Amanda Dixon, explained: “It’s been such a big decision to make, but the time came when we had to realise that our current space, while full of memories, no longer fits our growing needs. However, we’re full of excitement about our move to a town location. It’s going to be a huge convenience for our team. Plus, we’re gaining a lot more space to explore and develop new designs and technologies, as well as setting up a brand-new filming studio which will be a fantastic way to bring our designs to life visually.”

While it’s the end of an era, we’re excited to embark on this new journey, and we can’t wait to settle into our new Hand on Heart home.
