How we make Jewellery using your Pet's Hair or Fur

Our memorial hair jewellery collections are a beautiful way to remember a special pet. At Hand on Heart, we’re specialists in creating beautiful jewellery made from pet hair or fur. Pet hair jewellery is becoming a popular way to keep a tangible keepsake of your best friend with you forever.

Creating the jewellery is a delicate process, as our highly skilled designers transfer each tiny hair by hand into a beautiful range of jewellery. The finished result is a stunning and unique way to keep your beloved dog, cat, horse or any precious pet close to you at all times.

The process

The process is exactly the same for both human and pet hair. Using the hair you provide, our specialist designers carefully set individual strands of hair into a very hard-setting resin. We have a beautiful choice of colours to choose from, making each piece completely unique.

The finished piece of jewellery

The visibility of the hair in the finished piece of jewellery really depends on the colour of the hair. For example, darker hair will typically be more visible than fair hair.

The logistics

Upon receipt of your order, we will send you a Hair Collection Kit. Simply put the hair into the enclosed bag and return it to us. You can return the pack free of charge by putting it in any Royal Mail post box, or you can take it to the post office and send it via Special Delivery, if you prefer. We only need a minimal amount of hair, so you can retain some for your own safekeeping. Any hair or fur that we don’t use will be returned to you with your finished order.

The timing

Your Hair Collection Kit will be dispatched by first-class mail within 1 working day of placing your order. You will receive your finished jewellery within 21 days of us receiving the hair.

Pet memorial collections

We’ve experienced pet loss, and we know how devastating it is. Going through these heart-breaking experiences inspired us to start our Pet Memorial range and our Memorial Hair Jewellery collection for pets.

Pawprint memorial jewellery

Our pet memorial range includes pawprint jewellery. Our specialist designers can design a beautiful piece of jewellery using the true pawprint to create a lasting memory of your pet. They will work carefully with the image, removing any marks from fur and miniaturing the print, keeping all the unique detail to fit on your chosen necklace, charm or bracelet.

Pet ashes jewellery

Alternatively, our Cremation Ashes range can also encompass pet cremation ashes to create a lasting tribute. Jewellery made from ashes is becoming more popular than ever, and we offer two options – cremation ashes jewellery and self-fill ashes jewellery.

The cremation ashes jewellery range means you can create a piece of jewellery, including necklaces, rings, cufflinks, charms and earrings, using the ashes from your pet.

The cremation ash is delicately set into resin, which has a beautiful glass-like appearance while being very hard-wearing, making it the perfect material for ashes jewellery. Available in various colours, the cremation ash is layered to create a beautiful floating and sparkling appearance within the jewellery.

Self-fill pet ashes jewellery

Our other range of jewellery made from ashes is the self-fill ashes collection. These pieces are designed to hold a small token of cremation ashes – the ideal way to keep a pet close in a beautiful piece of memorial jewellery.

All our urn necklaces are made from sterling silver and come with the equipment and instructions to transfer a small amount of ashes into the necklace. You can also choose to have your ashes necklace personalised with text, like the name of your pet or a date.

Established in 2009, we’ve been making beautiful keepsake memorial jewellery for more than twelve years, representing the most precious people and pets in your life. We hope our pet memorial collections offer comfort in the dark days of grief, and your memorial jewellery keeps a unique memory of a special pet treasured forever.
