Meet Chloe, our Assistant Jewellery Creator

Meet Chloe, our Assistant Jewellery Creator

Today, we’re sitting down for a chat with Chloe Swaby, our assistant jewellery creator.

Chloe joined us in Summer 2022 as an assistant jewellery creator and is always a bright and friendly face in our studio (even first thing in the morning, and she doesn’t drink coffee… Nope, we’re not sure how she does it either!)

Chloe is currently undertaking training in all areas of production at Hand on Heart, from tidying up customers’ unique prints to creating and beautifully wrapping orders. One of Chloe’s key roles is editing prints so they are ready to be engraved. She creates the jewellery by hand in our studio, then she uses the finishing station to polish and buff them before attaching and welding the fittings. They’re then completed by attaching any chains or bracelets needed.

Chloe, who loves the gym and baking, joined us in the summer, and she is already a truly valued team member. Before joining Hand on Heart, and after leaving school, Chloe worked in administration, finance, and she also worked in production at a transport branding company.

Chloe, what’s your favourite part of your role as an assistant jewellery creator?

I love seeing the end product being packed up, knowing that opening it will be a really special moment for the customer receiving it to see it for the first time.

Has any customer feedback or have any reviews of Hand on Heart really stuck out as being memorable for you?

I saw the video review that Jessica Evelyn Wyles shared on Tiktok. It was really memorable for me because I created her heart necklace from start to finish, and she was so happy with it; it was so good to see.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?

Outside of work, I spend a lot of time in the gym, it’s my favourite place for a bit of ‘me’ time! I also do a lot of baking!

Meet the Team, Hand on Heart Jewellery

What’s your favourite thing about living and/or working in the Lake District?

My boyfriend and I love to drive out around the lakes on a sunny weekend.

Do you have a favourite Hand on Heart piece of jewellery? If so, what is it and why?

My favourite piece is the Memorial Fingerprint Heart Necklace. I love the way the print sits on the charm and I just think it is a beautiful subtle memorial piece.

If you had to sum up your job at Hand on Heart in three words, what would you say?

Special. Unique. Rewarding.

What’s an interesting or unexpected fact about you that people might not know?

I can hack squat 100kg. (A barbell hack squat is a deadlift performed with the barbell behind the legs – this is super impressive!)

Thanks for chatting with us, Chloe! Our customers often tell us how interesting it is to find out more about the process behind our jewellery creation, so we hope you enjoyed this insight into Chloe’s job at Hand on Heart, and the training she’s undertaking to learn even more amazing skills!
