Memorial Wedding Jewellery - Aneska's Story

In our latest blog we speak to Aneska to find out more about why she chose to include a piece of our Memorial Handwriting Jewellery in her Wedding Celebrations.

Aneska and her now-husband Damien met at work, they are both Police Officers in Cumbria, and celebrated their wedding on the 8th of September 2022 at the stunning Abbey House Hotel and Gardens in Barrow in Furness. When planning for her special day, Aneska knew that she wanted to include her beloved Grandparents who sadly could not be there in person, and chose a piece of Hand on Heart Jewellery to represent them.

“My Grandad never got to meet Damien and my Nanna wasn’t there to find out that Damien and I got engaged as he proposed 2 months after Nanna passed. I was devastated that I wouldn’t have either of my Grandparents there on my wedding day but the handwriting charm you created for my bouquet means that I could have that little part of them with me on my big day”

Aneska chose to add one of our Handwriting Heart Charms to her bouquet as a special nod to her Grandparents and told us the absolutely beautiful story behind the handwriting she chose to use.

“I lost my grandad, Michael Hamilton, in March 2005 rather unexpectedly, he was only 61 years old. I then lost my nanna , Brenda Hamilton, in October 2020. Whilst we were clearing out my Nanna's house we came across a poem which my Grandad had written about my Nanna. No one in the family had ever seen it before, Nanna had obviously kept it private for a very long time. We aren’t sure when the poem was written but from reading it I have the feeling it may have been before they even got married in February 1963.

The last line of the poem is “I will love her till the end of time” and he really did!”

Memorial Handwriting Jewellery Quote

Aneska chose to have the words ‘I love her’ from her Grandad’s poem on her bouquet charm with her and Damien’s initials and Wedding date engraved on the reverse. All we needed to create this unique keepsake was a clear photo of the handwritten message she wanted to use and our talented team of designers took it from there, creating a piece she can treasure for a lifetime.
