Today, we’re chatting with Jade Leeson, our Hand on Heart assistant jewellery creator.
Jade is a familiar face here at Hand on Heart. We were delighted that Jade re-joined the team last year after welcoming her two children. She is a dab hand at many production areas and can engrave, polish, do artwork, use the new laser machine, and pack and dispatch. Excitingly, her primary role will now be ashes jewellery, as she has recently started training in creating our ashes jewellery collection!
Jade, what’s your favourite part of your role at Hand on Heart?
I enjoy making something so sentimental and special for people to keep, in the hope it will make them smile after suffering a loss.
Do you have a favourite task as part of your job?
I enjoy the ashes setting; I find it quite therapeutic.
Has any customer feedback or reviews of Hand on Heart really stuck out as being memorable for you?
There was a video review from a lady who had suffered a stillbirth, and she was very thankful and emotional. It really makes you realise just how special and meaningful what we do is.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
I enjoy dancing, working out and having nice family days out with the kids and Carl.
What’s your favourite thing about living and working in the Lake District?
It’s such a beautiful place to live with lots of pretty walks and lovely places to visit (and not as busy/scary as a city).
Do you have a favourite Hand on Heart piece of jewellery? If so, what is it and why?
Since doing ashes I’ve come to really like the Teardrop Sparkle Ring – it’s quite dainty and also girly with the sparkles! It’s also a very lovely way of keeping a loved one with you.
If you had to sum up your job at Hand on Heart in three words, what would you say?
Unique, creative, and amazing!
What’s an interesting or unexpected fact about you that people might not know?
I was on a TV show with school when I was little called 50/50. It was the Christmas special and my school won!
